Westminster supports a variety of missions, both local and abroad. Each month, we feature one of these as our "Mission of the Month" in order for our members to become more familiar with that particular mission's work for the Gospel.

Our June "Mission of the Month" is Reformed Theological Seminary. RTS is near and dear to the heart of Westminster as it is the alma mater of our Senior Pastor, Richard Owens and his wife, Anne Marie. Our Counseling Minsitry Director, Mischa McCray, also graduated from RTS with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. The mission of RTS is "to serve the Church by preparing its leaders, through a program of graduate theological education, based upon the authority of the inerrant Word of God, and committed to the Reformed Faith." We have seen this mission at work in the life of our church and are thankful for the relationship that we have with this seminary.

As RTS graduates, Anne Marie and Richard have a great connection with fellow graduates as well as current students. Anne Marie recently reached out to Lisa Kim, a friend who graduated from RTS with a general MA in Biblical Studies. Lisa's husband, Johan, will graduate with a Masters in Divinity in May, after which he hopes to go into full time pastoral ministry. Lisa shared about her experience at RTS:

RTS has been invaluable to me in terms of theological, biblical/spiritual grounding/training/growth. It is a rich, rich place for fellowship and life-long friendships to be forged, and such a quality training place where students have the chance to sit under professors who faithfully strive to keep "the main thing the main thing" and equip future pastors, professors, missionaries, children's ministers, and Christian people(!) to discern, cherish, and put forth the gospel of Jesus Christ! Wherever they may go.
