More than 20 years ago. Young Life answered God’s call to run headfirst into the chaos of teenage motherhood with the hope of Jesus... and YoungLives was born.
YoungLives has never wavered from the original version to reach teen moms by entering their world, modeling the unconditional love of Christ, and encouraging them to become the women and mothers God created them to be. Through Young Life’s time-tested methods and life-on-life mentoring, teen moms are empowered to make positive choices, set and achieve goals, and live a future rooted in Christ.
Meagan Howard spoke with Shelbi Lamb, director of YoungLives in Greenwood, who said they are very thankful for the monthly financial support of Westminster. YoungLives is averaging 10-12 girls each month and are planning to go to camp in Missouri in June. They meet twice a month, once for club and once for bible study.
There are many ways to get involved with YoungLives: childcare, rides to and from club, and mentoring. Most of all, please pray that these moms and their precious children see the love of Christ and the hope that He promises.
